With a blog title like that, it was a matter of time

The bug has caught. One drop spindle bought, two made (but need work), and I am borrowing my friend's spinning wheel to learn, because (drumroll, trumpets please) Dad has offered to make me a spinning wheel for xmas! YAHOOIE! (Um, sorry about all the hints, Dad...)

So I am gathering info on what I *must* have and what I *might* like, and will pass on details to Dad. So far I like the double treadle, like having a brake around, the Louet my dear friend lent me is great but I think it moves a little fast for me, and most importantly, I am not coordinated enough yet to make good yarn. My yarn BITES. If my yarn were a movie, it'd be "Android" (look it up, but by god, don't watch it)

Here are the picture-y bits:

don't mind the messy desk behind...

and, my drop spindle. Anything "good" on here was done by my friend, I take all responsibility for the awful stuff ;-)
