uh huh...oh yeah...she's rockin...she's rollin

I suck a bit at picking up and knitting... but they turned out somewhat cute anyway, right?
booties.jpg

I gifted them already, hope they fit. Of course nobody wants to find out since there's a @(*#)(@ heat wave right now! How dare they? Can't they see I knitted?

UFO? No way, dude

Looky! A finished not-so-zig-zaggy scarf! Yay! (ok this picture is just before I finished, so it doesn't look finished so you will have to trust me)

woot!

I also dc'ed around the ole pink silky wool neckline, and wove in some ends, now I need to sew in the sleeves and get crabs...er...no, that would be crab stitch around. Which I might skip. But I do need to do my button hole loops and buttons of some kind... I wanna be done! Waah! Sewing sides/sleeves is evil, I tell ya.

baby booties (awww!)

almost makes me want to...hold someone else's baby and then give it back! :-) I made these (well this one, the other is still on the needles) for my friend Mary who just had a baby girl. Aren't they adorable? I made a couple of mistakes, but yay me, I learned 3 needle bind off (LOVE IT!), picked up stitches (hated it!) and I did ribbing! For her pleasure!

I'm going to be making another pair for another friend...but later

pink silky tweedy cardigan

how I love thee... let me count the times I've re-knit thee...

seaming sucks.... I ripped the seaming out after I took this pic, it was all lumpy and ugly and icky and I didn't want to hate it.

So I also got the two hanks of yarn (yay, same dye lot!) in the mail today so I am working on the last sleeve... I hope to finish in time to actually wear it before winter!

Oh, and here is the sleeve of my Elizabeth Zimmerman faking-it-and-making-it tshirt for Sabrina.

Yes Suzy, that's loads and loads of pink in my house. Hey, you aren't using your quota, so someone's got to!

more crocheted hat (spring in winter)

This was the reason I made this, my dear friend's birthday! Unfortunately something got screwed up and I missed her party :*-(

But here is her hat.

With removable flower!

It would be lovely (hint hint) to have a picture of her in it!

these are just yummy

I had to knit them. They made me. The little voices inside my head that said "must buy French bunny fur" and make baby booties. (Better those then more babies...)

Aren't they precious? I know, mine don't look like booties yet. Best of all, the toes are double knit so I get to learn a cool thing. Fingers crossed I'm doing it right.

Yum.

spring in winter hat

A brief foray from pink silky wool... I did kitchener that btw, YAY ME! It's not perfect but it's fairly good!

So dd chose this pink microspun at the fabric store. BIG THUMBS DOWN, that stuff is sooo splitty, frankly I'd rather use sugar and cream!

Anyway she's cute, isn't she? WELL? ISN'T SHE?

:-D

this is from The Happy Hooker

I may be a hooker, but I'm not so happy these days.

help indict karl roving

Ok, so each ball is 4 oz, looks like bulky weight, hand-dyed, bought on ebay when I was supersupersupernewbie and I've no idea on yardage. I'm trying to figure out what I can make to wear (don't want to felt it) so *I* won't look bulky.

Any guesses on yardage? Grazie!

I love my husband...even though he doesn't understand about yarn.

He made me a swift... see? Ain't she purdy? She needs a bit of oil and he mumbled something about a different piece of hardware (screw loose, dear?) but I think she's lovely. :-D

swift.jpg

I tried to use her on my alpaca/silk for clapotis, but dh, bless his heart, didn't sand well and I think I need either varathane or oil... to prevent the precious yarn from hopeless entanglement, I performed a yarn-ectomy and re-hanked it for the time being. Ah well. Soon, my precious...

crochet "romantic cardigan" almost done!

I'll post pics later, I have to weave in ends, make the ties, and steam it a bit

Done, steamblocked, and, worn (pardon the elephant pose, I was at the zoo. Note to self: have taller person take photo as to appear more fit, camera at waist height is not flattering...):
