ok, so the picture sucks. Fun with Fimo

we made Dalmatian and Schnauzer pendants using fimo, rubber stamps, and acrylic paints. Ooh, I forgot to glaze--will do.

I am doing nanoedmo this month (March) although not sure if the kids will. I think N wants to.

Today we learned how the precipitation cycle works, that most adults aren't as smart as 5th graders, that although it's commonly thought that Fiction books don't use the dewey decimal system, they actually (supposedly) do, and our library is so far removed from that system for fiction that books don't carry that identification, instead they bear bar codes. We also learned that conditioning fimo takes a while, different colors take different amounts, that eating too many chocolate chip cookies can make you feel sick, that not everyone likes to dip into milk said cookies, that chess is a complicated game, and that 12 hours straight of discussion about Nintendo and the Legend of Zelda makes mom turn green.

Good day, huh?

if you couldn't see coonlovin, here's take two:

thanks to jla for the name... snort... although something about her suggestion nagged at me so I looked it up and oy--sorry for any offense.... so I modified it. Note, J. La, that if you look it up via urban dictionary, it is an anatomically correct term if you are a raccoon, but because it has a negative connotation, I removed it. Sorry guys.

the Love Shack!

(thanks to a knittyhead for the title)

Woke up this AM to some good ole fashioned raccoon lovin... the kids came out and ds said "They're about halfway done."

I said, "How would you know?"

So I suggested he call the zoo and ask, but I'm not sure he wants to do that, lol!

The male looked a bit nervous, but the female just looked at us like "WHAT?"

After, they gave themselves a bath (EW!), and got down, walked down the back fence and went off. Needless to say, the topic for homeschooling today is not the one I planned ;-)
